Do you ever fall in love with something in a store but think it is overpriced and walk away?
Well … I do. I’m frugal.
I recently saw this beautiful piece of art in a local store and loved it immediately.
But I didn’t love the price tag – close to $300! Plus I didn’t need two of them and they were way too large. So what did I do? I took a picture and thought… “I can do that for WAY less!”
Here’s my version in pink for my daughter’s bedroom. I bought a canvas at Michael’s with my 40% off coupon and used leftover paint from other painting projects in her bedroom. I spent about $15.
I love it because it’s in my own handwriting and it’s imperfectly perfect.
Have you ever copied something you admired in a store? I would love to hear about it!
…Kristin
I love it! Nicely done. Technically, I copied the framed button letter from an Etsy shop for Sadie’s room. 🙂
Yes! I loved that, Jackie!
That came out awesome! She’s going to treasure that!
Not from a store, but, I’m about to copy something from you!! I love this so much!!!
That’s great! I always prefer home made, it is so much more personal!
Looks amazing! You always had the nicest penmanship. I saw the same piece of artwork at Perch in Maplewood. It was very expensive… I think closer to $500. I don’t understand the pricing….
