I am finishing up several client projects this week, so I thought I’d share this redesign I did last year.
This lost furniture piece, seen upside down below, was given to me by my cousin Lauren. It seemed to be the top of a breakfront but was missing it’s bottom half and obviously needed some love. Thank you, Lauren for feeling the same way about vintage furniture as I do! She knew that I could do something with this!
I thought it would be a great bookcase for the small wall space in my guest bedroom. I painted the inside Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Old White and the outside Annie Sloan Paris Grey. It was waxed with Clear and Dark Wax. I left the decorative mullions original to provide some contrast. A new pull from Anthropologie finished it off.
I love saving furniture that would otherwise be thrown away. They just don’t make furniture like they used too and this piece still has a lot of life in her!
Be sure to follow my blog or HMH Facebook page to see more salvaged furniture and upcoming client projects! I got to use a fun new paint color on a couple pieces!
