This vintage card catalog came to me by way of an old college friend! Thanks for finding, buying, and hauling this to me Chris! (And Tom!)
I have always loved old card catalogs. They are all over Pinterest now – used as craft storage, a unique entryway piece, and even wine bars! So… I didn’t come up with this idea on my own. But I knew right away that this one was destined to be a wine bar!
Here is the before.
The original finish was alligatoring and chipping so I needed to sand the entire piece first.
I then painted it in Annie Sloan Graphite and finished with Dark Wax. I cleaned the original brass pulls with Brasso and a bit of scrubbing. It is slightly distressed on the edges. I dropped in a label for one drawer “Malbec” to show that you could store different wines in each of the ten drawers. You could also number the drawers for craft supplies or everyday odds and ends storage. It would definitely be a statement piece in any room.
This piece is for sale and the details are below. Local to New Jersey buyers only, please. I’m not ready to start shipping!

Oh my gosh, how clever! I have a friend who is looking for a wine cabinet where the wine bottles aren’t on display all the time. Something like this would be perfect for her. Now … where am I going to find a card catalog?
I snatched it up right away!
