Queenstown Gray Hepplewhite Buffet (SOLD)
This classic Hepplewhite buffet was redesigned in a deep, rich gray – Queenstown Gray Milk Paint by General Finishes. I have been trying out this line of paint and have been very happy with how it goes on and distresses. I rubbed back the paint to allow some of the original wood to show and the contrast is lovely. The top was sanded down and re-stained in General Finishes Java Gel Stain and finished with a semi-gloss top coat.
The inside of the drawers and cabinets are painted in Fusion Mineral Paint in Sterling gray. I lined the drawers with beautiful paper from Spoonflower. Finally, the original brass hardware was cleaned and enhanced with Gilders Paste.
The drawers slide smoothly and the cabinets open easily. The top drawer has two dividers.
This buffet would be a beautiful vintage addition to a dining room, a foyer or as a media cabinet under a television.

Can I commission you to pant a piece for me?
Yes, if you are local to Westfield NJ, that is what I do. 90% of my business is commissioned pieces. Please email me at hazelmaehome at yahoo with pictures of your piece and any inspiration photos. I look forward to hearing from you! – Kristin
That side board is absolutely beautiful. I had , my ex has it now , one that looks exactly like it. I was wondering how you paint your pieces? Spray or brush. For what I see in the pictures the paint looks flawless.
Thank you! I use a brush!
How many coats did it take to get this dark if a color?
I typically do 2 coats, possibly a third. The added coats don’t particularly add darkness, but coverage.
