Graphite and White Wax Accent Table

Hello… it’s been awhile! I took a short break to attend to some other priorities… including a new addition to the HMH business – The Westfield Oil Co.! (I’ll tell you about that below!) But, that break turned into months, then a year… with a pandemic! Wow. I hope you are all well.

While we were all quarantining, I did paint a lot – but mostly walls in my home! And I did work on furniture – but just reviving our teak patio dining table. I am certainly happy to be back to painting vintage furniture!

During my hiatus, Meghan reached out to me wishing to redesign her grandmother’s beautiful accent table.

With all that carving and those turned legs… this table was just asking for a finish to highlight everything. After a lot of the prep work (you have to really clean in those details!), I painted two coats of Annie Sloan Graphite Chalk Paint. Then I wet sanded to get a smoother finish. Lastly, I applied Miss Mustard Seed Furniture Wax and then White Wax in the details and rubbed back the excess.

The wax softens the Graphite, sticks in the crevices and gives a beautiful worn look to this vintage piece.

I am passionate about giving cherished family heirlooms a new life so that they can continue to be loved and passed on!

My other passion is taking care of my family’s health and wellness and cleaning our home with essential oils. And so I created The Westfield Oil Co., the newest addition to Hazel Mae Home!

Ever since my 2010 melanoma diagnosis, I have sought out natural solutions for my family’s health concerns and have also looked to reduce toxins in our home. We have been a part of the dōTERRA family for over five years and I would love to share my knowledge and love of essential oils with you! There’s even an opportunity for you to get free oils from me this month! Follow me at The Westfield Oil Co. on Instagram!

And of course I will be back on Facebook and Instagram as Hazel Mae Home! Come say hello!
